Verve Fellowship is dedicated to preaching love through arts-based ministry and action.
People are desperate for hope. Since creation, the faithful have turned to religion and spirituality to inspire, but as society has moved at the speed of light many have become disillusioned with the trappings of religion. Talk of God has become painful, divisive, and anger invoking.
We believe the arts can be a healing balm. Through artistic works we hope to provoke deeper questions and discussions. We seek a love-filled faith: Based in peace, human rights, equality, and social justice. Although our roots are in the teachings of Jesus, Verve Fellowship seeks to be a multi-faith ministry, welcoming and inclusive of all who have a heart for the Power that we have learned to call God.
Using a plethora of artistic mediums, Verve Fellowship seeks to embody and advocate for our divinely inspired message: Love one another.
What we believe
We believe in God, but we allow each person to arrive at their own concept of what that means. Our roots are Christian, but rather than dictate complicated theology we ground our ministry in the words of Jesus:
”A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another…By this all men will know that you are My disciples.” — John 13:34-35 (NASB)
Further, we believe that the teachings of Jesus exemplify a Divinely inspired way of life. We believe the core of those teaching can be found in Matthew 25:
“Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’” — Matthew 25:37-40 (NASB)
Based on the passage above, we seek to build a ministry that benefits the poor, infirm, prisoner, or any others who may be marginalized by society. We strive for a welcoming and inclusive campaign of peace, liberty, and justice for all.
